About this hunt
"A Gold Nugget Frenzy: High Stakes Edition" — a three-day gold-nugget metal-detecting event on private ground at LDMA's Duisenburg Gold Camp near Randsburg, California, October 22–24, 2026, part of LDMA's 50th-anniversary year. Hunters swing for natural gold plus real gold nuggets and special prize tokens buried for the event; tokens redeem for prizes and earn timed entry to the Digger's Gold Nugget Garden, planted with nuggets from under 1 gram up to 50 grams. Finds are keepers. Thursday Oct 22: detector training/tune-up and Minelab demos (9 AM–2 PM) and a 2 PM meet & greet. Friday Oct 23 and Saturday Oct 24: check-in 7 AM, kickoff 8 AM, detecting about 8:30 AM–4 PM (3:30 Saturday). Open to the public — LDMA members and non-members ("General Admission") both register — and capped at 150 participants. Lodging is in nearby Ridgecrest. Info: 888-465-4653.
