About this hunt
The Antelope Valley Treasure Hunters Society's annual Rocky Road chili cook-off weekend at the club's AVT ("Rocky Road") claim — a cement pad off Osdick Rd just off US-395, south of Randsburg in the El Paso Mountains area of the Mojave. The planted Five and Dime Hunt runs at noon on Saturday, October 10, 2026, and is open to members and guests for $20 (a 9 AM free hunt that morning is for members only). Chili judging is at 4 PM (made from scratch at camp), followed by a potluck — A–M bring salads/sides, N–Z desserts. Weekenders arrive Friday Oct 9; clean-up Sunday Oct 11. Directions from the club: the Randsburg cutoff road is closed — from Hwy 14 take the Inyokern exit and US-395 south to Osdick Rd; from Hwy 58 out of Mojave take US-395 north at Kramer Junction and turn left onto Osdick Rd, then follow the arrows to the cement pad.
