About this hunt
8th Annual North Yuba Nugget Hunt at Union Flat Campground on Highway 49 between Downieville and Sierra City, CA, inside Tahoe National Forest. Free to attend, family-friendly. Be in camp by 4 PM for the giveaway at the Miners Council (organizer Tim is giving away 3 grams of gold this year). Combination gold-panning and metal-detecting gathering on the only stretch of the North Yuba River where recreational gold prospecting is publicly accessible.
