Based at the Springfield Historic Fairgrounds (established 1834); access includes 60 acres of woods, a portion of downtown Springfield with no door-knocking required, a 200-year-old walking and stagecoach road, a cellar hole, and three dumps from the 1840s and early 1900s. FRIDAY: check-in opens 9:00 AM, detecting begins immediately after and runs until dark; tent camping areas open in the evening with a community bonfire.
