About this hunt
DFA XII — the twelfth Dirt Fishing Adventures hunt — is a deliberately bare-bones, natural-only woods hunt on roughly 150 acres of an 18th-century Rhode Island farm, now largely wooded, at the ECC (Episcopal Conference Center) in Burrillville, RI, a property that has operated as a summer camp since 1949. Sunday, November 1, 2026, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with check-in starting at 8:00 AM; everyone who buys a ticket is sent an electronic waiver. This is a stripped-down event aimed at the more hardcore detectorists: no seeded area, no T-shirts or swag bags, a low $45 ticket, and more of the proceeds going directly to the center (a raffle is possible but TBD). Parking is capped at 75 cars, so carpooling is strongly encouraged — the more hunters who arrive together, the more detectors get onto the property. The ground is a proven producer: last year's hunt on this property turned up four gold rings, among other finds. Hosted by Dirt Fishing Adventures (Brian Maloney); tickets and details via the DFA upcoming-events page.
