Metal Detecting Hunts in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania is the busiest hunt state in the directory, with active clubs in every corner: Lancaster Research and Recovery (est. 1981) and Lehigh Valley Treasure Hunters (est. 1984, spring and fall opens) in the east, Boyertown's twice-yearly Come Out Swingin' relic hunts on ~100 acres of Berks County farmland, and Steel City Silver plus the Beaver County Detecting Club around Pittsburgh. The oddball is Treasure Week at Fox Den Campground near New Stanton — eight straight days of seeded hunts, each day backed by a different sponsor — and Black Diamond's two-day annual in Dallas, PA is past its 40th year.

Detecting in Pennsylvania: the short version
Organized hunts are the easy way in — the host has already secured land permission, and that's most of what your entry fee buys. Outside events, get landowner permission on private ground and check state and local rules for parks and beaches before digging. Seeded hunts are the friendliest start for beginners and kids; natural hunts reward experience. New to organized hunts? Start with the guide to metal detecting hunts and the FAQ.
Nearby states with listed hunts: New York, New Jersey, Ohio. Listings come from the DigRallies directory — dates and fees are checked against the hosts' own announcements, but always confirm with the host before traveling.
